The Department of Natural Resources has purchased three(3)properties for a combined total of 6.68 improved land acres.

The property is located in Alexander County, Parcel #'s 144-57, 144-59, & 144-62.

The property was acquired from the following individuals:

144-57 / Clinton E. and Susan E. Pecord / $65,628.97
144-59 / Ronald C. and Elizabeth Greenley / $128,011.87
144-62 / James H. and Marilyn S. Melton / $111,390.00

These parcels were part of an Emergency Management flood buyout plan.

30 ILCS 500/1-10 b) 6) requires Agencies to publish a notice in the Procurement Bulletin when it purchases land with a value greater than $25,000.

Subsequent to the devastating flood of 2013 the IDNR collaborated with the Illinois Emergency Management Office and Alexander County to offer buyouts to land/homeowners located within the flooded areas. The IDNR purchased several parcels of land adjacent to the Horseshoe Lake Conservation area with the intent of increasing the goose population at this site. The IDNR issued payment to the County for these parcels on June 4,2018.
