|The Department of DoIT is giving notice of intent to award a contract as a Sole Source to: Motorola, Inc. DoIT is seeking approval to enter into a sole source contract for 24 months. The State of Illinois currently uses Motorola's middleware solution which enables Illinois State Police and the local municipalities to communicate via the Illinois Wireless Information Network (IWIN). IWIN users can transmit and receive data using standard internet protocol on the IWIN capable laptop or portable computer. There are over 6200 copies of the IWIN software being utilized by our users. The current system provides the State with TTY services via a LAN based network terminating on the users PC.|
A hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on 11/29/2017 at the Stratton Office Building, 401 S. Spring St., Room 511, Springfield, IL 62706. Interested parties wishing to request a hearing or submit comments must do so in writing and submit their request to the notice contact. If a public hearing is requested, the purchasing agency shall present testimony justifying the procurement method. Any interested party may present testimony for or against the awarding of a sole source contract. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive information from the public as to whether contract award by Sole Source is appropriate and in accordance with the Illinois Procurement Code. Formal rules of evidence will not apply. Hearings may be recorded in order to aid in the production of minutes. Parties may submit written comments in lieu of attending the hearing. Written comments will be afforded the same weight as oral comments received at hearing. After consideration of the testimony, the Chief Procurement Officer may approve the purchasing agency’s request to contract by the sole source procurement method.
