|The Department of Natural Resources is providing notice of intent to renew a concession lease for the operation of a swimming pool at Dixon Springs State Park. The concession operation at Dixon Springs State Park is authorized to operate the swimming pool, offer swimming lessons and allow swimming parties. The Concessionaire may rent or sell bathing suits, sunglasses, suntan lotion, and other various swimming accessories; Concessionaire is also authorized to serve/dispense food, confections, hot and cold nonalcoholic beverages; sell tobacco products, selected souvenirs and novelties in good character, newspapers, picnic/camping supplies, ice and local native Illinois firewood.|
Dixon Springs State Park is one of several state parks in the Illinois Shawnee Hills. The park is on a giant block of rock which was dropped 200 feet along a fault line that extends northwesterly across Pope County. The 801 acre park is about 10 miles west of Golconda on IL Rt. 146 near its junction with IL Rt. 45.
