|The State of Illinois will be conducting a General Information Meeting to inform the vendor community about its plans to promote health information exchange in Illinois. The purpose of the meeting is to describe the elements of Illinois’ planning and implementation efforts to create a state-level health information exchange (HIE). The goals of the HIE are to increase health care coordination, improve patient outcomes, reduce medical errors and control health care costs. State plans include facilitating the exchange of clinical health information among a broad range of health care providers, patients and public health entities throughout the state. The objectives of this initiative are to implement a state-level HIE and support the adoption and meaningful use of electronic health records in accordance with federal government standards and timelines. |
This General Information Meeting will be held on November 18, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the James R. Thompson Center Auditorium, 100 West Randolph, Chicago, Illinois.
