|Title: NIGP Code User Update Required|
Beginning on February 20, 2014, new and existing users of the Illinois Procurement Bulletin (IPB) will be able to identify their goods and services by selecting class codes from the NIGP list of codes. The NIGP Code is a standard taxonomy used by the majority of states and provides better and more descriptions than the State’s current Class Codes. If you are already registered in the IPB, then you need to update your User Profile by selecting NIGP codes that correspond to your offered products or services. This intention of this Notice is to provide you ample time to update your User Profile.
State agencies will begin using the NIGP Code to procure goods and services in about 60 days, once the State’s new vendor portal is officially launched. Once the new portal is live, the NIGP Code will be used exclusively and the current Class Codes will be obsolete.
New Users registering in the IPB should select classification codes from both the current Class Codes and the NIGP Code.
